Understanding PTSD For Veterans

Mental health affects all humans, whether it’s positively or negatively. Certain life experiences can boost your health, while others plague it with terrible memories and could lead to inadequate ways of coping.

When a person decides to sign up for military service, he or she is often warned of the many risks and dangers that come with the job. However, although many active-duty obligations can be stressful, certain events can haunt veterans even after their service is over. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is a mental health condition that develops in people who experience or witness a traumatic event. Veterans are particularly prone to PTSD because of their service structure. Learn more about PTSD with the following infographic.
